FACING BRICKS – DURABLE AND SECURE
Brickability is unrivalled as the industry’s biggest supplier of high quality facing bricks to architects, developers, builders and contractors. We have long standing partnerships with manufacturers across the UK and Europe. This means we have access to a huge variety of materials in various colours, textures and sizes, at the most cost effective prices. Brickability can also supply handmade, wire cut, water pressed, reclaimed, rumbled, glazed and stock bricks. In fact, we can provide solutions for almost any required building application.
Clay facing bricks have been the building material of choice for thousands of years and although construction methods have changed, bricks continue to be one of the most sustainable, cost effective and aesthetically pleasing cladding solutions available. Bricks – being highly fire and impact resistant – are also one of the most durable and secure building materials, meaning they require very little maintenance once they are in place.
We harbour a vast wealth of experience and can therefore offer thorough technical support, as well as a brick matching service. When you are renovating, installing an extension or constructing an entirely new building, we can locate bricks which exactly match your needs.
We also supply superior quality facing bricks made by leading manufacturers such as Ibstock, Hanson, Fresh Field Lane, Michelmersh, Northcot, Traditional Brick, and Hoskins.
Facing bricks are the final touch for any building, and the first detail onlookers will see when observing completed projects. Choosing the right facing brick then, is critical. Brickability has the broadest range of colours, textures and finishes available in the UK today.
Glazed bricks provide an aesthetically vibrant and decorative look, are highly durable, and can come in almost any RAL colour desired. Glazed bricks are easier to clean than normal facing bricks, which sees them more resistant to water, frost, and vandals too. Glazed bricks are also available in a wide range of special shapes to ensure your building is well detailed.
Linear bricks – also known as Roman bricks – give buildings a unique look of scale and individuality. They are available in various sizes (up to 440mm long), in numerous textures and hundreds of colours. Re-adopted by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright, linear bricks are a popular choice for contemporary building projects.
Brickability can provide genuine second hand, reclaimed bricks from any number of demolished buildings, meaning we always have a stock of well weathered bricks. Not only can these reclaimed bricks help new projects seamlessly fit in with their surroundings, but they are environmentally friendly too, adding virtually nothing to the carbon footprint of your building project. Brickability can also provide newly manufactured reclaimed bricks, deliberately designed to look old. These are cost effective and comply with BS EN771-1.
Brickability can supply engineering bricks which are denser and therefore stronger than most facing bricks. Engineering bricks are ideal for use where strength and low levels of water absorption are essential, such as within retaining walls, foundations and ground works.
They are manufactured with two different classifications; Class A (minimum compressive strength of 70 N/mm2 and water absorption of 4.5%), and Class B (minimum compressive strength of 50 N/mm2 and water absorption of 7%).
